Thengai thogayal is one of the easy tasty thogayal. When we add it to the hot rice and add seame oil to it…it will be heavenly. In our house. We use to have it with fire fried appalam (sutta appalam). When we make morekuzhambu thenga thogayal it will be in our menu for sure. It goes well with that also. We can have it as side dish for curd rice also.
Thengai Thogayal

- Mixer Jar
Ingredients
- 3 tbp Urad dhal
- 4-5 nos red chilly
- 3/4-1 cup Coconut
- small piece hing
- 1 tbsp oil
Instructions
- Keep a kadai in the stove and add oil
- Add urad dhal red chilli hing and fry till the dhal turns golden brown. Don't burnt it
- Once the dhal is fried switch off the flame add coconut.
- Once the mixture is cool add it to the mixer jar
- Grind it into a smooth paste by addding few drops of water. If you add more water it will be like chutney.
- Transfer it to a bowl . Thenga Thogayal is ready to serve
