Pesarattu

Pesarattu is a healthy diet. As more dhal is used and rice is less it is rich in protein. People who are in diet can take this as they rich in calories. which helps in weight reduction. It is similar like dosa but tastes very good. As raw rice is also added it gives crispiness to the dosa.

 Servings 13-15 dosa

Ingredients

Passipayaru     1 1/2 cup
Raw rice            3/4 cup
Green chilli      4 nos
Red chilli          2 nos
Hing                   few
Salt                     as needed
Oil                       few
Onion                1 (optional)
 

Procedure

Wash dhal and rice and soak it for 5 to 6 hours.
 
After that drain the water and add the it  in the mixer jar. Add green chilli ,salt ,hing  and red chilli to it.
 
Add little water and grind  it to a smooth batter
 
The batter should be like dosa batter. Add water if required.
 
No need for fermentation. You can make dosa immediately.
 
Heat a tawa take a laddle of batter and pour into thin circles like dosa
 
 If you like to add onion cut into small pieces and sprinkle over  it. Add a spoon of oil to the pesarattu
 
 When one side is cooked  flip the other side.
 
When both the sides are cooked take it from the stove.
 
Pesarattu is ready to serve.
 
Serve it hot with any chutney.
