Thenkuzhal receipe is made with rice and urad flour. It is a good tea time snack. Children likes it very much as it is very crunchy and crispy . Though cocounut milk is not added it will be soft and tastes well.

Ingredients
Raw rice 2 cup (1cup -200ml)
Uradh dhal 1/2 cup
Salt as needed
Hing as needed
Oil for deep frying
Water 1 1/2 cup
Butter 2tbsp
Procedure
Wash the rice rice and soak it in water for 2 hours.
After 2 hours spread the rice in a cotton cloth. Let it dry.
Place a kadai in the stove and dry roast the uradh dhal till a nice aroma arises.
Check whether the rice is dried, if so grind the rice and dhal. You can grind it in the machine.
Seive the grinded mixture.
Take a large bowl put the flour.
Add jeera . Melt the butter else it will not mix well with the flour. Just keep the butter in the stove for few seconds.
Mix it well with the flour. Add water to the flour.
Make it like a chappathi dough but slightly looser than the chappathi dough.
Keep a kadai in the stove add oil.
Take the murukku mould apply oil to it.
Keep a 3 eyed plate inside the mould.
Take a small portion from the dough and put it in the mould.
Check whether the oil is heat by putting a small piece from the dough. When it comes up immeditaly oil is ready.
Press the mould in circles directly in the oil.
Make 3 to 4 murukku at a time.
When one side is ready flip the other side.
Once both the sides are fried take it outside and place it a kitchen towel to drain off the excess oil.
