Kanji maavu

It is healthy receipe. As many millets are added to this it has many benefits. You can have it as for breakfast also. As it contains many items which are rich sources of calories you will feel energetic. It can be given to toddlers also. For toddlers add some badam Cashews pista. For elderly people if you want you can add it else you can skip it.

Ragi                 100g

Kambu             100g

Whole Wheat   100g

Pottukadalai      100g

Red rice              100g

Passipayaru       50g

Passiparuppu    50g

Javvarasi            50g

Kadalai                 50g

Kollu                      25g

Cashew                 10-15nos

Badam                    10-15nos

Pista                        6-7nos  

Procedure

Wash ragi whole wheat kollu and pasi payaru and soak it in the water. Soak for about 7 to 8 hours.

After that drain the water and spread in a cotton cloth.

Tie the cotton cloth and keep it for 7 to hrs. Sprinkle little water when the cloth becomes dry.

Leave it for one day. Occassionaly sprinkle some water in the cloth.

Next day you can see the sprouted lentils

Keep it in the sunlight for one day or you can dry roast it.

Dry roast the remaining ingredients in the heavy bottom pan keeping in medium flame.

Dry roast badam cashews and pista  separetly and grind it in your mixie.

After grinding seive it and keep it separately.

You can grind the other ingredients in the machine and store it in the air right container.

 Making kanji

Place a pan add a cup of water and add 2 spoon of kanji maavu to it.
Stir it continuously. It will become slightly thicker.
Now add 1/2 cup of milk and 2tbsp of sugar.
Stir it continuously else it will get burnt.
Kanji is now ready.
