It is a simple rice variety made using coconut milk and basmathi rice. Adding spices to this rice gives a nice aroma adding cocounut milk gives a nice taste. Coconut milk cures stomach ulcer and very good for health.
Servings 3-4
Ingredients
Rice or Basmathi rice 11/2cup
Coconut milk 2 1/2 cup
Water 1/2 cup
Onion 2
Ginger garlic paste 1tbsp
Green chilli 2nos
Oil 2tbsp
Ghee 1tbsp
Cashews (optional) few
Salt as per your taste
Corriander leaves few
Bay leaf 1 no
Cardamom 2 nos
Lavang 2 nos
Cinnamom 1 piece
Procedure
You can use normal rice also. If you use basmati rice it will enhance the taste.
If you use basmati rice soak it for half an hour.
Keep a cooker in the stove add oil and ghee to it.
Add cashews and fry it till golden brown.
When it is hot add bay leaf, cardamom and Lavang.
Once it fried add the green chillies and onion to this.
Once the onion becomes transulent add ginger garlic paste and mix it. Fry this till the raw smell goes off.
If u have green peas you can add it.
Now add rice.
If you are using basmati rice add 1 1/4 cup of coconut milk and add1/4cup of water.
If you are using normal rice add 2 1/2 cups of coconut milk and 1/2 cup of water.
Once it started to boil cover the lid and put whistle.
If you are using basmati rice give 1 whistle.
If you are using normal rice give 2 whistles.
Serve hot with any gravy of your choice.
